UHMWPE hose

UHMWPE Hose, also known as ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene hose, is a high-performance pipe material with outstanding comprehensive performance. It is widely used in the industrial field, especially in scenarios where extremely high requirements are placed on the wear resistance, corrosion resistance and transportation efficiency of pipelines.

Structure and Material

  • Inner tube: Made of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) material, with a molecular weight typically ranging from 1.5 million to over 3 million. This material has long molecular chains that are intertwined with each other, forming an extremely tight structure, which endows the inner tube with excellent wear resistance, impact resistance and chemical corrosion resistance. The inner pipe surface is smooth with an extremely low friction coefficient, which can effectively reduce the flow resistance of the conveyed medium and improve the conveying efficiency.

  • Reinforcing layer: Generally, multiple layers of high-strength synthetic fibers are woven or wound, and combined with spiral steel wire for reinforcement. Synthetic fibers offer excellent tensile strength and can resist the expansion force of the inner tube caused by the medium pressure. Spiral steel wire further enhances the hose's pressure resistance and deformation resistance, ensuring that the hose can still maintain structural stability under high-pressure conditions and prevent pipe body rupture or leakage.

  • Outer coating: Weather-resistant and wear-resistant rubber or plastic materials are often selected, such as ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) rubber. The outer coating not only protects the inner reinforcing layer and inner tube from external mechanical damage, wear and erosion by environmental factors such as ultraviolet rays and ozone, but also provides a certain degree of flexibility, facilitating the installation and use of the hose under different working conditions.


Advantages


  • Ultra-high wear resistance: The wear resistance of UHMWPE inner tubes is extremely outstanding, being several times or even dozens of times that of carbon steel. When transporting slurry and powder materials containing a large amount of solid particles, such as mine tailings, power plant fly ash, and metallurgical ore powder, it can significantly extend the service life of the hose, reduce frequent replacement due to wear, and lower maintenance costs.

  • Outstanding corrosion resistance: It has excellent resistance to most chemical media. Whether it is acid, alkali, salt solutions or organic solvents, it is difficult to cause corrosion to it.

  • Outstanding impact resistance: Ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene material itself has extremely high impact strength. Even in low-temperature environments, its impact resistance remains excellent

  • Wide temperature adaptability: It has a relatively wide operating temperature range and can generally work stably for a long time in an environment from -40 ℃ to + 80℃

  • High internal pressure resistance strength: With the structural support of the reinforcing layer, UHMWPE Hose can withstand relatively high internal pressure, meeting the requirements of high-pressure transportation. It can be used for the transmission of various high-pressure fluids, such as high-pressure water cleaning equipment, hydraulic systems, etc.
