PVC Layflat Hose (also known as "PVC flat hose") is a flexible hose with polyvinyl chloride (PVC) as the core material, which can be folded and stored. Its core features are portability, low cost and corrosion resistance. It is widely used in low-pressure fluid transmission scenarios.
Both the inner and outer layers are made of PVC material. Some mid-to-high-end models add polyester fibers or polyester fiber braided layers in the middle to enhance tensile strength and pressure resistance. (Models without reinforcing layers are only suitable for extremely low-pressure scenarios.)
Pressure: The working pressure is relatively low. The standard model is 0.4-1.0 MPa (4-10 bar), which is only suitable for low-pressure fluid transmission and not for high-pressure hydraulic systems.
Temperature: The applicable temperature range is narrow, generally from -5 °C to + 60° C. It tends to harden and crack at low temperatures and soften and deform at high temperatures.
Compatibility: Resistant to acids, alkalis, and most chemical corrosions (except for highly corrosive liquids with excessively high concentrations), it can transport water, sewage, common chemical liquids, agricultural fertilizer solutions, etc., but not suitable for oily media (it will swell PVC materials).
Advantages: Low cost, light weight, easy to fold and store, corrosion-resistant, and convenient installation (no need for complex joints);
Disadvantages: Poor pressure resistance, prone to cracking at low temperatures, prone to aging at high temperatures, weak wear resistance (the outer surface is easily scratched by sharp objects)
Agricultural irrigation: Low-pressure water delivery for farmlands and orchards, which can be flexibly laid according to the crop area and folded for storage after use.
Municipal/Sanitation: Road cleaning, watering for landscaping, as well as temporary sewage discharge and rainwater diversion;
Construction: Temporary water supply at construction sites (such as concrete curing, on-site cleaning), or as temporary drainage hoses;
Home/Outdoor: Watering in the courtyard, temporary water delivery for camping. Some food-grade PVC models can be used for temporary drinking water transmission (FDA certification needs to be confirmed)
