Flexible PVC Hose, also known as flexible polyvinyl chloride hose, is a tubular product with high flexibility made by adding plasticizers, stabilizers and other additives to the polyvinyl chloride (PVC) base material and through the extrusion molding process.
Base material and plasticizer: The base material is polyvinyl chloride resin, and the flexibility is adjusted by adding phthalate esters (conventional type) or environmentally friendly citrate esters (food grade/environmentally friendly type) plasticizers.
Auxiliary additives: Add heat stabilizers (such as calcium-zinc stabilizers) to prevent the aging and decomposition of PVC during processing and use; Outdoor use models will have additional UV stabilizers (such as benzotriazole) added to delay cracking caused by excessive sun exposure. For food-grade models, non-toxic additives that meet FDA and LFGB certifications must be used to ensure that no harmful substances are released when in contact with food.
Special structure type: For medium and low pressure scenarios (0.4-0.6MPa), some products embed a thin polyester fiber braided mesh (reinforcing layer) within the PVC layer to enhance tensile strength (breaking tensile strength can reach 12-15MPa) and anti-expansion capacity, preventing excessive deformation of the hose during pressurized transportation.
High flexibility and ease of operation: This is the most core advantage of flexible PVC hoses - they can be easily bent and folded without the need for tools, and can bypass obstacles such as corners, furniture, and equipment, making them suitable for laying in narrow Spaces (such as under home cabinets or between equipment) or complex paths (such as among garden plants).
Lightweight :The density of PVC material is approximately 1.2-1.4g/cm³, which is much lower than that of rubber (1.8-2.0g/cm³) and metal (steel 7.8g/cm³). The weight of flexible PVC hoses of the same specification (such as 1-inch pipe diameter and 10-meter length) is only about 1.5-2kg, which is half that of rubber hoses and one-tenth that of metal hoses. No additional manpower is required for transportation and installation.
Basic corrosion resistance and durability: The standard flexible PVC hose can withstand water, salt water, common detergents, and diluted neutral chemicals (such as low-concentration fertilizer solutions for agricultural use), does not rust or corrode, and is more suitable for humid or slightly corrosive environments compared to metal pipes.
