EN856 4SP HOSE

As the "protective coat" of the EN856 4SP hose, the outer rubber layer, although not in direct contact with the hydraulic medium, plays a crucial role in ensuring the overall performance of the hose, extending its service life and adapting to complex working conditions.

Structure

The outer rubber layer takes weather-resistant synthetic rubber as the core base material. The mainstream ones are chloroprene rubber (CR) or ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM), and some high-end models add styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR) for performance improvement.

Structural design

  • Anti-slip and wear-resistant fabric texture design: The outer rubber layer of most EN8564SP hoses is made of fabric texture through embossing process. Compared with smooth surfaces, the friction coefficient is increased by more than 40%.

  • Thickness gradient optimization: The thickness of the outer rubber layer is not uniform but designed based on the hose diameter and application scenarios. For small-diameter hoses (such as DN6-DN16), the thickness of the outer rubber layer is approximately 1.5-2mm, taking into account both flexibility and protection. For large-diameter hoses (such as DN25-DN51), due to their higher pressure-bearing capacity and greater risk of external collision, the thickness of the outer rubber layer is increased to 2.5-3mm. Additionally, at the connection points of the hose joints, the thickness is further increased by 10%-15% to enhance the protection of weak areas and prevent the outer rubber layer from cracking at the joints due to stress concentration.

Special scene adaptation model

  • Flame-retardant and anti-static model: For flammable and explosive environments such as mines and oil fields, the outer rubber layer of some EN8564SP hoses is added with flame retardants (such as aluminum hydroxide, decabromodiphenyl ether) and conductive carbon black

  • Food-grade compliant model: The EN8564SP hose for the hydraulic system of food processing equipment has an outer rubber layer made of rubber material that complies with the FDA 21 CFR Part 177.2600 standard. It does not contain harmful substances such as phthalates and heavy metals, and the outer surface is smooth and easy to clean. It can withstand high-temperature (80-90℃) alkaline solution rinsing in the CIP (In-situ Cleaning) process, preventing the growth of microorganisms.

  • Low-temperature weather-resistant model: For cold regions (such as -40 ℃ to -20 ℃ working conditions), the outer rubber layer adopts a low glass transition temperature rubber formula, with plasticizers added to enhance low-temperature flexibility. After bending 180° at -40 ℃ (meeting the minimum bending radius requirement), there are no cracks or fractures in the outer rubber layer, solving the problem of low-temperature embrittlement of ordinary outer rubber layers. Suitable for polar construction and hydraulic systems of cold chain equipment.
